We have decided to move towards the formulation of a wind energy research program that will turn long term scenarios (IEA Net Zero by 2050 and RePower EU) into research gaps and themes with a timeline. The aim of the program is:
JP Wind is in a unique position to formulate this long term program and to evaluate progress on an ongoing basis. This scope of work will be the basis for transforming our JP into a European Centre of Excellence (EUCoE) that can enable the implementation and monitoring of the research program, as well as our lighthouse initiatives.
The first step in this direction will be the development of the wind energy research program and an initial mapping of key research projects. This work requires a significant effort, to make it possible the MB, with the approval of the SC on December 22, decided to use part of our internal funds in the JP to sponsor a project producing the research program as main output. The EUCoE will then use this output to as starting point, updating the research program and follow up with the monitoring of progress on a regular basis.
Attached to this email you will find a Request for proposals to map the research needed to reach the 2050 energy goals
